People always say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Dinner, however, is as important as breakfast, not for its value in nutrition but rather dinner’s value in family. Dinner is also an important meal of the day because of the fact that this is the time when the whole family is together after a long day at work or in school. Dinner is the time for the family to bond, and asks each other on how their day went. This is why such moment around the table should be highlighted with a delicious meal.
The challenge about cooking dinner is that with everybody tired after a whole day of work or study, to cook is the last thing on everybody’s mind. You wouldn’t want to have your family wait for a long time before eating dinner. Do not worry, because here are some easy dinner recipes which your family will definitely enjoy.
1. Lemon and Chicken and Asparagus – lemons really go well with Chicken and asparagus, but what if you combine them all in one foil pack and broil them? You will get a delicious combination of flavor from the lemon, chicken, and asparagus. The preparation time for this dish is about 10 minutes while the cooking time is at about 20 minutes.
A. On a flat surface lay the tin foil, place the chicken on the tin foil.
B. Prepare the asparagus by trimming the flat end of the asparagus.
C. Slice the lemon and tuck it in between the asparagus and the chicken with knife.
D. Stir together the butter, garlic, seasoning and the lemon juice leftover. Brush this mixture over the chicken.
E. Fold the tin foil over the chicken and tighten it to prevent the dish’ juices from coming out.
F. Grill them for about seven minutes. You can also bake this dish at 400 degrees Fahrenheit for
about 20 minutes.
2. Salmon with a side of Fennel-Cucumber Salad – this dish is a combination of the healthy benefits of the salmon and also the freshness of the salad. This dish could be cooked for about 30 minutes. However, the preparation could be done in advance especially for the fennel and cucumber which can be prepared 9 hours ahead of time. To cook this dish the ingredients and procedures are fairly easy, and these are:
Salt and Black Pepper
Low-fat Greek Yogurt
A. Rub the Cayenne, Salt and Black pepper onto the Salmon. While doing this you should also start preheating your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
B. Put the salmon in the preheated oven for about eight to ten minutes.
C. Make the cream sauce by mixing the Greek yogurt, salt, pepper, and vinegar.
D. Finely sliced fennel and cucumber are placed in a large bowl. Put in the cream sauce on the cucumber and fennel slices then toss.
E. Serve the Salmon, Salad and a slice of Rye bread on a plate.
