Proform PRO 4500 Treadmill Review

Proform PRO 4500 Treadmill Review

Stop feeling miserable and working out alone! The Pro 4500 has built-in iFit Live™ that connects your treadmill to the Internet and allows downloading of lots of cool workouts provided by Google Maps™. Another thrilling feature by the Pro 4500 is its 10″ full-color touch screen with built-in browser powered by Android™. It hooks you easily to a wireless network and then lets you check emails, view sports news headlines, and update personal posts while you exercise. Link this to iFit Live™ to keep track of your workouts on the clear display. This treadmill is designed to provide comfort, protection, and durability.

Sweating it out has never been a fresh experience when using the 8″ AutoBreeze™ Workout Fan while pounding your feet and swaying your arms. Your energy level will remain high for a long time by staying cool. Your sight will stay focused on the goals ahead. You will always have a comfortable run on a treadmill that has FS2™ Full Surface Suspension to provide cushioning system that protects your joints with each stride and an extra room space made available by using 20″ x 60″ 2-ply commercial-grade treadbelt. The frame is made more durable and strong to accommodate both heavy duty use and heavy weight users that weigh 450 lbs. And yet the SpaceSaver® Design of this treadmill is further enhanced with EasyLift™ Assist that includes a shock system to help easy lifting of the deck by a single push. The decks are still foldable and stand upright for storage. These two control settings will let you choose varied options in speed and incline. By simply swiping your finger on the touch screen, both the 0–12 MPH 1-Touch™ Speed and 0–15% 1-Touch™ Incline will show you each button for adjustment. Good points: Surfing the web while running is now possible with the Pro 4500 Weight capacity at 450 lbs is one of the highest we’ve seen Comes with iFit Live module and wireless heart rate chest strap Doesn’t have decline option unlike the Pro 2500 Is the price ever going to come down from the MSRP? Comments: One of the main selling points of the Proform Pro 4500 is ability to browse the web while working out. This new feature has only been possible in I believe in the past year or so (2011). Whether it’s actually a good idea on the other hand, that probably differs from person to person. But if you’re looking for the top line from a big company such as Proform, it doesn’t get more “top” than with the Pro 4500 treadmill. Except for the fact that it took out the decline option (but actually available in the cheaper 2500 Pro), the Pro 4500 treadmill has all the extra bells and whistles one can hope for: iFit Live, web browser, wireless heart rate monitor, powerful motor and belt backed by an over the top weight capacity rating. There are two main gripes: the price and the warranty. Even though we’re sure that at some point, it will be selling for less than, we’re not sure if it’ll come with the to make it attractive enough to buy. Yes, it’s an awesome treadmill but it’s also an awful lot of money. The warranty at 5 years parts and 2 years labor is now pretty standard for treadmills between and but a longer warranty would really demonstrate just exactly how much Proform is willing to stand behind its products. Do you like doing workouts at night? The Proform 8.0 ZT is built to operate silently but efficiently and for prolonged periods of time. You’ll never receive any complaints from neighbors because this treadmill is powered 2.25 CHP Mach Z™ Motor fixed with an axial fan that ensures cooling the interior to minimize noise while you’re using the treadmill. Do you love speed? With the 0-10 MPH Quick™ Speed, you can choose to change the settings without scrolling its different options.Just touch the desired button and there you go! Are you preparing to go mountain hiking? Train those gorgeous legs on the Proform 8.0 ZT. Simply select a higher incline setting to get a more intense workout focusing on the legs and thighs. No worries straining your feet and ankles because the ProResponse™ Cushioning system will protect each steps on the treadmill. The frame is designed to save space and the decks are made easy to fold by the SpaceSaver® Design. After every use, take back the space occupied by the treadmill by folding and storing it vertically inside the storage. A card slot in the console is where you plug the iFit® Workout Card that will activate the workout programs designed by Jillian Michaels. You will enjoy her coaching assistance while training. Do you know where you are now with your workout plan? Are you having good results? Check all your recorded stats on the blue-tinted LCD display to monitor the real state of your speed, time, distance, incline, as well as the calories you had burned so far. It always pays to be concerned with your heart rate before you put yourself to training in workouts. For safety measures, observe your heart through the Dual-Grip EKG™ Heart Rate Monitor, the built-in sensors built-in in the treadmill handle bars. Good points: One of the better looking consoles from Proform One of the worst warranties offered by Proform especially in 2011 18″ wide belt is on the narrow end Comments: The Proform 8.0 ZT is not without its problems. Though it’s one of the newer treadmills offered by Proform, compared to the other models, the Proform 8.0 ZT has probably one of the weakest warranties with only 90 days for parts and labor. Additionally, the motor only has a 7 year warranty which is ridiculously short considering that most motors are warranted for life or something in the range of 20+ years. Perhaps they needed to cut back on the length of the warranty because they’re offering so one of their coolest looking consoles but a short warranty leaves a lot to be desired. Do you run for pure enjoyment? The Proform 850 T offers a real comfort for leisure runners. The built-in ProShox™ Elite 2 Cushioning eliminates the jolts that may harm your joints with its revolutionary cushioning system. Find workout programs online. From Google Maps™, you may download training sets designed with automatic changes of incline terrain that you experience when running on your streets or anywhere in the world. Does the incline and all-terrain running challenges not progressive enough? Follow Jilliam Michaels workout programs. Enjoy daily updates and audible coaching on customized personal training while inside your home through Proform 850 T feature — iFit Live™. As America’s toughest trainer, Ms. Michaels will surely deliver the results. It’s like you have her as your personal trainer! If you want to train following your own phase, you may set options according to personal preferences with the 3 built-in apps: calorie app, timed app, and distance app. Choose to burn between 200 to 700 calories, perform workout for 20 minutes or more, and run a distance of only 1 mile per session or up it to 5 miles. Don’t forget to switch on the CoolAire® Workout Fan to stay cool and comfortable. And while running your own race, check your progress record on the 6” Backlit Display attached on the front panel. Monitor your speed, time, distance, and amount of calories burned. Feel free to adjust the settings. This Proform 850 T feature is a must-check safety measure for everyone. Exercise is always good for the body but the heart can only take so much. The Dual-Grip EKG™ Heart Rate Monitor attached to the treadmill handle bars has sensors that automatically monitor your heart rate while holding the bars. Lastly, this treadmill made foldable that conveniently stands vertically for storage by SpaceSaver® Design. Good points: Compatible with the new iFit Live technology though requiring a separate purchase of the module A fair number of built in programs Pretty typical motor and belt combination Not worthy of your money if it doesn’t drop below its MSRP of Warranty is pathetic at only one years Comments: At the time of review, the Proform 850 T is selling for a whopping. At this price, you can definitely do better. Usually when you go above, the typical offering is a 60″ long belt, motors that have more than 3 HP and a warranty that is 3 years or so. Perhaps when it goes on sale, it’s worth a second look but at, the 850 T, it’s a no brainer. No brainer in that it’s not worth your time that is. If you see it sold at, it’s not a bad deal. At, it’s probably one of the better if not best deals if you’re looking for an entry level choice.
