2017 Nordictrack Freestride Trainer Elliptical Review

Elliptical

One of the more reliable Nordictrack ellipticals judging from the extremely high weight capacity (400 lbs) and Nordictrack’s longest warranty periods (5 years parts + 2 years labor) Many ellipticals don’t have an incline feature and even fewer have a decline option but this Nordictrack trainer has both an incline and decline 10″ touchscreen console is Nordictrack’s largest in 2014 and you can surf the web on it too Unlike traditional ellipticals, you have a greater degree of control over what your stride length is because the Freestride trainer uses a pedal+belt suspension setup. This is a new type of suspension system that we haven’t seen anywhere else before Nordictrack advertises that you can get the BENEFITS of three different machines but in reality, you’re looking at just a really fancy elliptical. Both treadmills and stair steppers require you to lift your feet off the ground which is something you won’t need to do with the Freestride Trainer. So in a sense, it’s still closer to an elliptical than anything else.

Being a new design recently introduced in late 2013/early 2014, the design is unproven and may result in unpredictable behavior and/or problems At the time of review, the Nordictrack Freestride Trainer was out of stock and retails for a whopping. If and when it goes on sale, we expect it to drop to around. If you’ve got to spend on an elliptical, the Nordictrack Freestride Trainer would not be our first recommendation. As stated above, this is a new design and even for a company that has been selling ellipticals for as long as Nordictrack has, a new design doesn’t guarantee a problem-free design. By sticking to a more proven design such as a front flywheel or rear flywheel elliptical, the chances are much better that you’ll encounter fewer problems. On the other hand, if money is no issue and trying out something new is something that appeals to you, the Nordictrack Freestride trainer may be worth trying out. Just as how Nordictrack has now made the center drive A.C.T elliptical series a staple in their elliptical lineup, you can expect Nordictrack to roll out newer and better “Freestride Trainers” in the future if this initial model takes off in 2014. So our advice is to wait for now and stick with a proven elliptical design. The FreeStride Trainer will provide you with the benefits of three machines all rolled into one. A treadmill, a stepper, and an elliptical have now been combined into a single machine, the Nordictrack FreeStride Trainer. The FresStride Trainer is beyond comparison for the machine moves with you. Offering nearly zero impact, the FreeStride Trainer will make you feel like you are floating. The traditional crank and rail attachment is absent in this savvy machine. But rather it has cushioned pedals that ride on belts, so the stride path was engineered to conform to your every move. Entertainment is crucial in workouts for optimum results to be realized. This is why the FreeStrideTrainer comes with a MP3 compatible music port and a full color touch tablet (10 inch) that comes with an Android web browser. So visit your favorite websites or listen to your favorite music while working The range of both the incline and decline is a tie at 10% each and with just a touch of a button, through its Simple OneTouch Controls, you can easily adjust the stride angle. This will help you target multiple muscle groups in a workout. The FreeStride will not take a lot of space at home and it is easy to fold and store. It has integrated handle controls allows you to have easy access on the resistance and other adjustments on your Sensors on the handle bars allow you to monitor your heart rate through its CardioGrip for a quick and accurate reading. Plus, the machine arrives with the Nordictrack Wireless Chest Strap for best results, making sure that you are on your zone. Its 20 lb Effective Inertia Enhanced Flywheel helps deliver a smooth and natural ride.
